Profile
The Women’s Resource Center’s (WRC) mission is to provide mentoring, guidance and connection to programs and services that help women and their families achieve economic self-sufficiency. The WRC walks with the client through their journey to self-sufficiency and doesn’t just connect and then leave her. We guide her through the process, helping her to navigate the “red tape” or the barriers that may be in her way in order for her achieve success. We also mentor her when she has questions or concerns so she isn’t overwhelmed. Helping a woman gain economic self-sufficiency so she does not need to reach out for financial assistance from her community is why the WRC makes Hancock County a better place.
- Since opening our doors in June of 2014, the WRC has received 293 referrals and has provided either direct financial assistance or connection services to other nonprofit organizations in order to meet the needs of 138 women.
- Each year we provide budgeting assistance and life skills training to more than 60% of the referrals coming through our doors.
- We strive to meet our mission statement each year by diligently working with our clients to determine their needs and helping them to reach their goals.
