Psi Iota Xi is a philanthropic women's sorority with charitable focuses in speech and hearing and art, literature, and music. The Upsilon chapter is located in Greenfield and also serves eastern and southern Hancock County. Annually, the Upsilon chapter funds a speech and hearing clinic open to any child in Hancock County in need of extra therapy. In 2022-2023 the chapter will begin funding two speech and hearing clinics per year. The goal is for the endowment fund to permanently support the cost of the clinics. The organization also funds awards for young artists through the Riley Festival, helps cover the cost of hearing aids for two children that attend Eastern Hancock schools, purchased iPads for speech and hearing clinicians at G-C and EH schools, and provides a college scholarship to a student pursuing post-secondary education in speech/hearing or the arts.
- 2020 marked our chapter's 100-year anniversary in Greenfield. Our group is thriving and continues to further charitable enterprises.
- We provide funding to elementary schools located in GC, EH, NP, Zion Lutheran, and St. Michael to purchase books for their libraries.
- In 2018 our chapter began an endowment fund with HCCF to solidify our chapter's legacy. We met the fund requirements of raising $15,000 in just over a year, and our fund has continued to grow.
