Hancock County Food Pantry

Profile

The Hancock County Food Pantry (HCFP) has operated in Greenfield for 25+ years. The mission is to be a source of food to the residents of Hancock Co. struggling with hunger or food security. HCFP is 100% volunteer operated and entirely dependent on grants and donations from churches, businesses, and individuals. In 2021, HCFP served 4,800 clients from more than 1,000 unique households from Hancock County and distributed over 1 million pounds of food. There were 279 clients that visited HCFP for the first time in 2021, suggesting that food security remains an issue in Hancock County. Over 50% of clients visited only the pantry only twice (of 24 potential visits), suggesting we are truly a source of food in times of greatest need. Over 50% of the organization's income in 2021 was from individual donors. HCFP continues to offer mobile food pantries in collaboration with Gleaners and has helped influence and contribute to other food security missions in the county.
